Carving is a common style of longboarding that leans itself to a surf or snowboard style. Often Carving longboards are more flexible and the decks may not only be wood but also fiber glass or carbon fiber. Having smooth trucks and wheel clearance is also important when carving. If you find a board you like with all of these qualities it is the best longboard for you.

Down Hill Longboarding

Down Hill is all about the need for speed. The best longboard when you are going 50+ mph is one that you can trust! The decks on these are often dropthrough decks which means the board is mounted to the bottom of the truck rather than the top. The decks are thick the bearings are frictionless and the wheels have good grip.
